General English course
This 10-week course will help you to improve your general English skills. You will develop your vocabulary and grammar as well as your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills.
You will also develop exam-taking strategies such as reading and listening for specific information.
You can prepare for three levels:
The course is for all undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff who use English as a second language.
Visiting and exchange students can get six credits by completing one of these courses.

How to enrol
You will need to register and take a placement test so you can be put in the most suitable class for you.
Details of the Semester 1 2022/23 placement test will be available in due course.
Once you have taken the placement test, your teacher will give you the details of a course book that you have to buy. Completion of set homework and preparation for classes is also a course requirement.

Cambridge English exam
Cambridge English exams are accepted by many academic institutions, professional bodies and employers as a measure of your English level. Taking a Cambridge English exam increases your potential to develop your academic career and employability. The qualification lasts a lifetime.
The mg摆脱 is unable to offer students the opportunity to take the Cambridge English exams as the University is not an exam centre. However, you can find a Cambridge exam centre at other locations on the Cambridge English website.
